Presque Isle Needleworks

Your Source For Lighthouse Cross-stitch Kits

One day two teenage girls stopped to talk while walking along Grand Lake Road in Presque Isle, Michigan. That was the beginning of a life-long friendship that would lead to the formation of Presque Isle Needleworks many years later

We love lighthouses! In the northern woods, we would often sit around the fireplace on cool nights doing various handcrafts. In 1983, we decided to combine our interests and create a cross-stitch kit of our local lighthouse that would include everything needed to complete a 5"x7" picture. We strove to keep it simple and accurate so that it could be completed in a few nights around the fireplace.

Since 1983, we have designed at least one new pattern each year, and also added two pattern books for stitchers who have their own supplies. We also have been fortunate to have some unique support of our business over the years from various sources. In 1993, our business was featured in the local electric company publication Country Lines. In 1998, we appeared on the PBS-TV show, "Michigan Magazine". In 2003, The Alpena News carried a full-page story about our business, and more recently, one of our lighthouses was featured on the Michigan Heritage Quilt sponsored by the local electric companies. We were thrilled with each of these experiences, and continue to enjoy positive feedback from so many satisfied customers. Thank you to all of you who have supported us in any way.
